About Us
Mission
The Reinvent media group's mission is to be a global media company that enlightens and connects the hearts and soul of each person through words and visual information. The company’s vision is to evolve from basic advertising boards into a thriving, universally-accepted and -accessible online enterprise, creating a powerful presence that provides useful content and relevant information to all industries. Through its domain names, global advertising networks, virtual cities, semantic technology and venture capital arm, Reinvent truly is on course for an unbounded future.
History
Reinvent was founded in 2000 by Dr. Kevin Ham, a family doctor who wanted to focus his medical practice on his patients and not on time or money constraints. Kevin believed that Internet domain names served as potential virtual real estate, or storefronts. Reinvent’s strategy was to acquire a wide-ranging portfolio of premium generic domain names.
Business
Reinvent has grown to be a world leader in the business of Direct Navigation on the Internet. The scope of Reinvent’s activities, coupled with its revenues, give it unbounded opportunities. With a portfolio of hundreds of thousands of domain names, Reinvent’s goal is to leverage new technology, innovative ideas and intellectual capital to become a leading-edge, global media and technology powerhouse.
Reinvent is leveraging its strong foundation of extensive virtual real estate holdings with professional domain solutions. By populating undeveloped, yet valuable virtual real estate with targeted pay-per-click advertising relevant to each unique domain, Reinvent generates revenue for itself while also offering a similar service to other domain owners through HitFarm.com. Most of the sizable revenue generated by Reinvent’s vast domain name portfolio and its related professional domain solutions service has been reinvested back into the company, eliminating the need for external capital sources.
Growth
Reinvent’s most recent venture seeks to develop virtual representations of major cities around the world. Reinvent recently purchased Vancouver.com and is developing an elaborate 3D virtual model of the city. The website will debut in advance of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and will enable visitors to familiarize themselves with the City of Vancouver’s sights and surroundings. This will reinvent advertising as the virtual worlds become a bridge between the real and the cyber world. Reinvent’s goal is to replicate this innovative platform in order to create virtual interactive maps for the world’s major cities.
Reinvent is at the forefront of the evolving Internet, developing advanced technology to define the Web 3.0 space, the Semantic Web – a space where computers will understand information with little human interaction. In addition, Reinvent is building a global advertising network that will be integrated with its extensive domain name portfolio to provide advertisers with new avenues for reaching a global user base. To leverage new and emerging opportunities, the company recently secured a $47.5 million revolving credit line for future acquisitions and continuing technological advancements.
Recognition
The rapid expansion and unparalleled technologies of Reinvent – and Internet entrepreneur Kevin Ham himself, have not gone unnoticed. In 2007, Kevin was voted “Domainer of the Year” by his industry peers. He was also featured as the cover story in the June 2007 edition of Business 2.0 magazine. This year, Kevin was the recipient of the Industry Achievement Award at the DomainFest 2008 Conference, an annual gathering of the key players in the Internet industry space where Reinvent focus.
