Reporting directly to Senior Management, as our Business Development Professional you will be responsible for the effective commercialization of a multimillion dollar web business. You will identify, develop and negotiate strategic business partnerships that fit within the strategic and long range business plans of Vancouver.com and manage the resultant revenue growth. Success on Vancouver.com will position you well to help Reinvent develop and commercialize the world’s leading portfolio of web properties. Responsibilities:
Plan and manage the growth of business opportunities:
- Represent the company in developing relationships with key partners
- Work with partners to grow sales revenue by developing innovative solutions and media packages
- Set monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals and budgets for Vancouver.com
- Monitor results and ensure business and revenue goals are achieved
- Keep current on all aspects of the Vancouver market, the web based advertising industry and media companies with an eye towards identifying potential opportunities
- Work closely with sales executives and the Vancouver.com development team to make sure that the site grows as the heart and soul of Vancouver.
Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years in a business development role, preferably involving networking with senior managers and community leaders.
- Undergraduate degree in a business or technology related discipline
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work effectively within a cross-functional organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent financial research and analytical skills, particularly with regard to evaluation of new business opportunities.
- Self motivated with a demonstrated passion to be successful.
- Must be able to understand and articulate advertising solutions to a varied audience.
